For the past few years, lingerie and sexy clothing sales are booming. Intimate apparel concepts such as bustiers, baby dolls and teddies have become part of the female vocabulary. And their admiration for the people, too! Both Penney's and Spiegel recently announced major plans for expansion of its underwear line. On-line, only the top Internet companies, such as Sensual Mystique, Poison Angel and elegant moments report booming sales. It seems more and more women are buying lingerie for themselves and accept gifts of clothes from their husbands or partners.
Melbourne fashion retailer, has even suggested that the Australian government subsidizes the service's decision to help save the marriage. Lethal Fashion Director, Gail Lee, says the marriage bond should be reinforced with satin, lace and truck of the Federal government cash. He wants the government to subsidize half the cost. It is not surprising that the Government has not responded.
Lingerie has come a long way from the white bra and panties photos that graced our mothers' Sears and Penney's catalog. They have also discovered that these same American women are surprisingly confident about their sexuality and had no qualms about buying and wearing lingerie. "Career women", however, were more insecure about their body image to what is assumed. "Apparently, size has little to do with our image of ourselves, and corporate stress can have a negative impact on our confidence, " concludes the report.
